Devotion and Prayer

Today’s  Devotion is as follows
Song: O Lord How Excellent Is Thy Name
Songwriter: Unknown
Prayer: For Blessing On Bible Study
Let Us Pray,
“Blessed Lord, who has caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may live our life in all sincerity and godliness, and by patience and comfort of Your holy word, we may embrace, and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which You have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ”. Amen.

Scripture Reading:  Psalm 8 (NRSV)
“1O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. 2Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger. 3When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; 4what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? 5Yet you have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor. 6You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet, 7all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, 8the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.9O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”

How can we honor God in our daily walk in obedience? When reflecting on all that God has done for us, praise and worship should be our first thought.  As we reflect upon when God created the heavens and earth, today we can see with our own eyes  God’s miraculous power. We often times take for granted, the sun, moon, stars, bodies of water, food and other provisions which God has persevered for us. God is an awesome God, a loving God, and a God of grace and mercy.  A God who will provide for our every need. A God who keeps on blessing even when we do not deserve it.  God is a God of Love and Forgiveness.  How can we love and serve God unconditionally?
